How to install bamboo blinds in 12 steps

How do you install bamboo blinds? With our special pulley system and this step-by-step DIY guide, you will be able to hang your bamboo blinds in no time. Our blinds can be used both indoors and outdoors, and installation is quick and easy. Customizing bamboo blinds is also possible by cutting the bamboo slats with our Japanese saw.

Step 1

Cut the supplied 4 mm cotton rope from the pulley system to the following lengths:

  • For bamboo blind 200 × 200 cm = 1 piece of 5 meters and 1 piece of 6.5 meters
  • For bamboo blind 150 × 200 cm = 1 piece of 5 meters and 1 piece of 6 meters
  • For bamboo blind 100 × 200 cm = 1 piece of 5 meters and 1 piece of 5.5 meters

Step 2

Take the shorter rope and attach the end to the upper wide bamboo slat at a distance of 20 cm from the side. Attach the rope to the front side of the bamboo slat (convex side).

Attention!
The side where you attach the shorter rope will become the control and rope cleat side!

Repeat the same steps with the longer rope, but 20 cm from the opposite side.

Step 3

Attach the wide bamboo slat of the blind to the window frame or beam. This can be done using screws, cable ties, or steel wire.

Attention!
When using screws, pre-drill the bamboo slat to prevent cracking.

Step 4

Let the bamboo blind and the cotton ropes hang down completely.

Step 5

Now take the pulley and screw it onto the window frame or beam. Do this on the back side of the bamboo blind and 20 cm from the side, so that it is positioned in the same place as the rope previously attached to the front side of the slats.

Step 6

Attach the second pulley as described in step 5, but this time 20 cm from the opposite side.

Step 7

Take the longest rope lying on the ground and thread the end through the first pulley.

Bambusrollos-7

Step 8

Then guide the rope through the second pulley.

Step 9

Take the shorter rope and guide it through the second pulley (where the longer rope comes out).

Step 10

Now take both ends of the ropes and pull them until both ropes are evenly tightened. Then tie the ends of both ropes together.
