Our Nigra bamboo poles have a natural dark brown, slightly glossy color. Nigra bamboo originates from China and is commonly known as “black bamboo.” It is highly popular for decorative applications such as furniture, bamboo garden screens, musical instruments, and more.

Each bamboo pole is unique, and the diameter may vary. The stated dimensions are always measured at the base (the thickest part of the pole).

A natural characteristic of bamboo is that the top is thinner than the base. The species and length affect the degree of tapering. For Nigra bamboo, this is minimal – at 3 meters, the variation is about 10–15%.

Bamboo is a natural product, so poles are never perfectly straight and colors may vary.

Like wood, bamboo can expand or contract with changes in temperature or humidity. Vertical cracks may appear, but they do not affect the structural strength of the bamboo.
